We here at Math Adventure are delighted to see that at least half of participants at most schools are girls. Of course, it's no secret that the current US workforce in STEM-related fields is predominantly male:
"Forty percent of today’s jobs require STEM competencies and almost all of the 30 fastest-growing jobs over the next decade will require STEM skills. Yet only a quarter of women are currently represented in these fields."
While the balance will continue to change over time, what can we do now for school-age girls to encourage them to follow their passions to STEM?
